PASKAL 3D inspires optometrists and wearers of glasses alike. Technical and optical.
3D makes refraction an experience and provides first-class results.
PASKAL 3D currently offers more than 80 vision tests.
PASKAL 3D enables the entire monocular refraction under binocular conditions as a modern 3D refraction system.
The patient sees separate images for the right and left eye during the entire refraction. The separation takes place
in the phoropter or measuring lenses with special filters. A 3D monitor is used to display optical test objects,
which separates the images, line by line, with circular polarisation.
Dieter Kalder and Fritz Passmann*, recognised "varifocal gurus" in the trade,
are the inventors and namesakes of PASKAL 3D. Their proposition was
to bring a breath of fresh air to the antiquated refraction process.
Their idea: To perform refraction tests on a 3D screen with a stereoscopic background image –
such as a vacation landscape with lakes and mountains –and to separate visual impressions
by means of circular polarization which, however, is not perceptible for the human eye.
A major success:IPRO Managing Director Martin Himmelsbach was so impressed with their concept that IPRO
and OS IT immediately began working together on the EDP development and IPRO took over distribution.
The result: The 3D vision tests which patients now see on a 3D-TV. The optometrist controls the testing with an Apple iPad.
